Long-Range Casimir Forces | This series, Finite Systems and Multiparticle Dynamics, is intended to provide timely reviews of current research topics, written in a style sufficiently pedagogic so as to allow a nonexpert to grasp the underlying ideas as well as understand technical details.

The first MeV extracted beam of protons was obtained in December, and in the past year the experimental program using this beam has gradually begun to get under way and produce some preliminary results.

Many of the experiments under way on few body problems make use of the variable energy feature ( MeV). SUMMARY: Properties of systems with long range interactions are still poorly understood despite being of importance in most areas of physics.

The present volume introduces and reviews the effort of constructing a coherent thermodynamic treatment of such systems by combining tools from statistical mechanics with concepts and methods from dynamical systems.

His publications include An Introduction to Quantum Theory (Cambridge, /), co-editor with D. Micha, two volumes in the series, Finite Systems and Multiparticle Dynamics (Plenum): Vol. 1 Long Range Casimir Forces (); Vol. 2 Coulomb Interactions in Nuclear and Price: $ This book collects lectures and seminars given at the Les Houches Summer School on Long-Range Interacting Systems.

It reviews state-of-the-art developments in this field, looking at problems of probability, transport theory, statistical mechanics, condensed matter physics, astrophysics and cosmology, physics of plasmas, and hydrodynamics.
